Hotline: The North Bay Rapid Response Network of Sonoma and Napa Counties operates a
24/7 hotline for calls related to threats by ICE. Bilingual “Dispatchers” answer calls to the
hotline; send Legal Observers to verify that an immigrant is at risk and to record the ICE
actions; help the caller during the event; provide rights information and support. La Luz
Center and SVAC are part of the network. http://northbayop.org/rapidresponse/ 707-800-

Legal Observers: Legal Observers are local volunteers who have been trained to document
any ICE or Homeland Security raid. Legal observation can help stop a detention,
deportation, and family separation; is useful to the legal defense if someone is detained;
and can help with legislative advocacy. Legal observation assures that constitutional rights
are upheld.
Immediate Legal Consultation/Detention Consultation: SVAC/CAVS and La Luz, as
participants in the North Bay Rapid Response Network (NBRRN), have names of low-cost or
pro-bono lawyers who can help families immediately to find a loved one who is detained
and to file the necessary government forms for a release on a bond that helps the detainee
avoid a long detention and remain in the United States. At the time of an incident report,
NBRRN hotline operators can connect callers to legal resources.
